How much do DeVOL kitchens cost?
A DeVOL kitchen is an industry benchmark for the classic shaker country kitchen and we can’t get enough of them. Although the brand isn’t super old, they absolutely nail a traditional wooden kitchen in simple colours with amazing quality and craftsmanship.
If you’ve been part of the Fifi McGee Community for a while, you might well know that Fi & Neil fell head over heels with DeVOL kitchens years ago when they took on their home renovation. They seriously considered whether their budget could stretch that far, to have the kitchen of their dreams. Whilst they ended up going with Howdens, we’ve still done our fair share of research for clients on DeVOL kitchen costs, to make your decisions easier. And if you want to weight up your options, we’ve also written a guide to Neptune kitchen costs.
So, here goes…
The DeVOL kitchens price ranges
Let’s start at the beginning. When it comes to figuring out DeVOL kitchen costs, it really all depends which range you’re after as they vary in price. DeVOL have guide prices on their website for each of the different ranges which we’ll list below. Some are pricier than others but you can make a fairly solid bet on the £15k-£50k price range with the full classic kitchen going up to 70k.
Here’s the run down:
The Real Shaker Kitchen £12k-£40k
The Classic English Kitchen £30k-£70k
The Sebastian Cox £15k-£30k
The Haberdashers Kitchen £30k-£50k
The Heirloom Collection doesn’t have prices listed.
Having said that, we read on The Frugality’s blog a few years ago that she got a quote for £5k. It completely depends on the size and number of units so don’t take the DeVOL website price ranges as totally non-negotiable. Go in with your budget and measurements in mind, even if it’s out of the price ranges listed, and see if you can work together to get the price more where you want it.
2. DeVOL kitchen prices itemised
Kind of like with an IKEA kitchen, DeVOL’s cabinets, countertops and hardware all have individual prices which make the total quote. So, whilst you might not yet know which cabinets etc are suitable for your space, you can use the prices as a benchmark against other companies on your list.

Base cabinets, Sinks & taps, Paint colours, Wall cupboards, Worktops, Countertop cupboards, Full Height cabinets, Freestanding cabinets , Prep tables, Additions.
3. It’s a free design service
As with many other kitchen companies, DeVOL offer a Design Service free of charge to get you started on your kitchen journey.
We love that this service is free so it’s a great opportunity to figure out the best design for DeVOL in your own kitchen dimensions and style.
In this appointment, a DeVOL designer will work out initial layout options with an estimate or a full itemised quote. They ask that you get familiar with the ranges and styles first so you’ve got an idea of what you want for them to work with and then they can produce a much more realistic cost that’s suited to your project. They may require a deposit later on in the process, normally in the region of 10% of the kitchen price. But this would be taken off the overall price anyway

4. Cost up your appliances & materials
These two choices are going to make a fundamental difference to your overall kitchen cost so there’s huge room for swaying your price here. DeVOL say that they want you to have an idea of the kinds of appliances you’d like for your kitchen when you go through the Design Service, so it’s worth putting some serious thought into what you want versus what you need and the level of price level you’re after.
If you’re a budding professional chef then absolutely go for the high-end appliances but if you just whip up the odd meal for friends, then you can probably go with standard appliances and simpler materials to save on the pennies.
5. Size & Layout inform how much your kitchen will be
As with any kitchen design, the bigger the room you have to fill and the more complex the layout, the pricier your kitchen will be. DeVOL do offer a bespoke range, but so long as you get your layout designed properly then you should be fine going with standard measurement cabinets.
If you’ve got a large kitchen but a small budget, you could always make a bit of a saving by working out a clever configuration with a kitchen island and less cabinets. Or you could try open shelving on the walls and just have base cabinets which is super trendy at the moment and means less cabinets so less cost.
6. Costs for DeVOL flooring
If you want to stick with DeVOL for your entire kitchen, then you’re in luck.
A while back, the folks at DeVOL started Floors of Stone, a sister company that makes some seriously stunning flooring. From stone to tiles and some lovely wood patterns, they’ve got you covered with materials to match your gorgeous new DeVOL kitchen.
Of course, it probably goes without saying that anything by DeVOL will be great quality, fantastic materials but also a little on the pricier end of the scale. If you’ve got it spare in your budget, shoot for it. If not, source your flooring elsewhere to sit in with your cost restraints and let the rest of the kitchen do the talking.
7. Pick up a brochure for inspiration
To get you started, why not check out the online DeVOL brochure so you can figure out which styles are your cup of tea and if the DeVOL look will work in your unique home.
This will give you inspiration by the bag full but also help you narrow down if the DeVOL style is for you as well as starting to decide on which range you fancy for when it comes to your design service choices.
Do you know anyone who has chosen DeVOL for their kitchen renovation? Do you dream of a DeVOL kitchen or do you have your heart set on another company? We’d love to hear your thoughts (after all, we’re a little biased with shaker kitchens), so let’s get the conversation going.
If you’re considering a house renovation or you’ve started one and finding yourself a little lost at the million things to consider, don’t worry, we’ve got you.
Fi & Neil have put together a clever (and absolutely essential) 3 day email series which covers money, timelines and contractors for just 15 minutes each day, equipping you with a solid foundation of renovation knowledge.
